The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Filiph Nordin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yngve Pilberg having to interfere. Kristoffer Kilstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Axel Kristiansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Andréas Vesterberg came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Östra Frölunda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andréas Vesterberg couldn't finish the play. After 19 played minutes Kristoffer Kilstedt rounded Gideå IF's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-0. Yngve Pilberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Jansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcus Jansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Marcus Jansson struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Yngve Pilberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gideå IF. The supporters of Östra Frölunda booed when Gideå IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gösta Duset didn't get a good kick on the ball. Andréas Vesterberg's late challenge caught a Gideå IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Andréas Vesterberg helped the player get up and apologised. Andréas Vesterberg hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. The supporters of Gideå IF booed when Östra Frölunda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicklas Pihlblad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gideå IF's Michael Salqvist couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 34th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Östra Frölunda. If Andréas Vesterberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gideå IF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Simon Erserman scored to the left of an out of position Axel Kristiansson, making the score, 3-0. Gösta Duset charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gösta Duset the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
