An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Billock in the 3rd minute of play forced Karlsborg's goalkeeper Max Aspengren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 4 minutes, Adrian Simonsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Åstol's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrian Simonsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sven-Erik Palmkvist made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Mikael Engström sent off a good shot on target. Michael Lindberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Sven-Erik Palmkvist when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Adrian Simonsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Karlsborg getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Ulf Sandström hit a great ball. In the 28th minute Adrian Simonsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Aspengren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adrian Simonsson in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Max Aspengren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Adrian Simonsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Max Aspengren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Billock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adrian Simonsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Max Aspengren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adrian Simonsson ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 42nd minute, Mikael Engström left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Karlsborg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The supporters of Karlsborg booed when Åstol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jens-Ola Alefors didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 54th minute Mikael Engström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Erik Palmkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hampus Albohm received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Sven-Erik Palmkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven-Erik Palmkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hampus Albohm in the 62nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Åstol's Zebastian Sjögren got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Torbjörn Salqvist was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Mikael Engström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Sven-Erik Palmkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hampus Albohm in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sven-Erik Palmkvist saved Åstol from getting behind. The supporters of Karlsborg booed when Åstol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Wiman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mikael Engström struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Sven-Erik Palmkvist didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karlsborg. Sven-Erik Palmkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hampus Albohm, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Karlsborg's Mikael Engström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sven-Erik Palmkvist narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 97th minute Hampus Albohm shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Erik Palmkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Åstol had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
