When Gunnar Klemensson came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Alstermo IFK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gunnar Klemensson couldn't finish the play. Marcus Juhlin took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arne Wenerdahl. Arne Wenerdahl dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Joseph Tidén managed to get in a good position for a shot. Åsarp's supporters rose to their feet, but Joseph Tidén was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sven-Edvin Lange breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcus Juhlin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arne Wenerdahl having to interfere. Gunnar Klemensson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Arne Wenerdahl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 31 minutes into the game, Simon Sjödin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alstermo IFK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Åsarp the free kick. A collision led to Alstermo IFK getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Simon Sjödin hit a great ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Gunnar Klemensson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alstermo IFK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gunnar Klemensson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alstermo IFK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Börge Abelsson in the 38th minute. A well-hit corner resulted in Karl-Ove Håkansson heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Kjell Pihlblad blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sven-Edvin Lange having to make a save. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kjell Pihlblad to make the kick off. A collision led to Alstermo IFK getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Pär Sävström hit a great ball. After 53 played minutes, Åsarp's Robert Josefsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sven-Edvin Lange came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Åsarp reached it. After a defensive mix-up in Åsarp's zone, Gunnar Klemensson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arne Wenerdahl came out of the goal and Gunnar Klemensson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Marcus Juhlin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alstermo IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Juhlin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Åsarp's Joseph Tidén got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Alstermo IFK! Alstermo IFK:s Sven-Edvin Lange showed great skill when he stopped Robert Josefsson:s penalty. Åsarp's Arne Wenerdahl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcus Juhlin in the 71st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Joseph Tidén managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sven-Edvin Lange showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph Tidén in the 89th minute of the match. Kjell Pihlblad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Edvin Lange having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kjell Pihlblad in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sven-Edvin Lange saved Alstermo IFK from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Marcus Juhlin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alstermo IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcus Juhlin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
