Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Timmy Hultman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Södertälje FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Timmy Hultman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mattias Sandström breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Göran Johnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Göran Johnsson struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Mattias Sandström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Södertälje FK. After a rather tough play, Arild's Birger Persson got a free kick in the 14th minute. If Göran Johnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Göran Johnsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mattias Sandström was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Ernst Erserman charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernst Erserman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göran Johnsson in the 30th minute of play forced Arild's goalkeeper Mattias Sandström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Arild's goal looked a bit too open when Göran Johnsson came free, but Mattias Sandström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Göran Johnsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Mattias Sandström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 minutes, Timmy Hultman made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Arild's Mattias Sandström tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ernst Erserman struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Thor Lundhberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arild. If Kim Igelström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Arild players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Södertälje FK were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ernst Erserman made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karl Blom during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 53rd minute, Karl Blom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 57 minutes, Kim Igelström managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arild's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kim Igelström was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 59th minute, Örjan Bållström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kim Igelström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 62 minutes into the match, Arild's goalkeeper Mattias Sandström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Göran Johnsson. When Timmy Hultman got free in front of the goal in the 64th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Mattias Sandström was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Ernst Erserman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kim Igelström in the 72nd minute of play forced Södertälje FK's goalkeeper Thor Lundhberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Göran Johnsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Mattias Sandström made a huge save. Thor Lundhberg came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Arild's Ernst Erserman. But to his dismay, Ernst Erserman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After some careless play in the Arild defense, Göran Johnsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mattias Sandström. The Arild fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mattias Sandström should have stopped the shot. Södertälje FK's Thor Lundhberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kim Igelström in the 85th minute of play. Kim Igelström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Thor Lundhberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernst Erserman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thor Lundhberg having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Södertälje FK had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
