The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Malcolm Myhr managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vikingstad's supporters rose to their feet, but Malcolm Myhr was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Svante Alefors breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Malcolm Myhr got in the 8th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Svante Alefors handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Svante Alefors showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjell Burman in the 18th minute of the match. In the 22nd play minute Malcolm Myhr came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Svante Alefors. 1-0. Timmy Lundin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conny Vidman, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 28thth minute of the game Ragnar Ödmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vikingstad's Timmy Lundin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 29th minute, one of Vikingstad:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vikingstad. In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Älghult. Lars Holm stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Timmy Lundin. 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ingmar Björklund during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Älghult getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Robin Eliasson hit a great ball.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Malcolm Myhr managed to get in a good position for a shot. Malcolm Myhr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Svante Alefors having to interfere. After 60 minutes, Kjell Burman made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Älghult's Svante Alefors tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Malcolm Myhr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Svante Alefors having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Älghult's Conny Vidman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Timmy Lundin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 79th minute Ragnar Ödmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timmy Lundin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vikingstad's Karl-Axel Jönsson got a free kick in the 80th minute. Svante Alefors showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Malcolm Myhr, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kjell Burman in the 91st minute of play forced Älghult's goalkeeper Svante Alefors to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Conny Vidman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
