In the 3rd minute, Bernt Fredriksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joakim Tidén kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Mats Gustavsson scored 0-1 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fred Henriksson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Dick Petersson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of John Odeen when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mats Gustavsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Fred Henriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esbjörn Sandberg took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fred Henriksson. Vallvik IF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee felt a red card was in order, 35 minutes into the game, when Sven Wennerquist put in a rough tackle. In the 34th minute, one of Vallvik IF:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vallvik IF. Matthias Ström placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Joakim Tidén's late challenge caught a Ånge IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joakim Tidén helped the player get up and apologised. After 41 played minutes Vallvik IF got a freekick which was hit by Joakim Tidén. Björn Månsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Fred Henriksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Björn Månsson to make the kick off. Karl-Åke Klemensson hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Vallvik IF's Joakim Tidén got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 55th minute, Matthias Ström sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Vallvik IF's Fred Henriksson didn't even have to move. A collision led to Vallvik IF getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Per-Åke Moberg hit a great ball. In the 57th minute Björn Månsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Henriksson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ånge IF's Björn Månsson in the 65th minute got a chance for a shot 65th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vallvik IF's goalie prevented a goal. Through an outstanding action, after 67 minutes, Fred Henriksson successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 68 played minutes Ånge IF got a freekick which was hit by Matthias Ström. After having played for 79 minutes, Dick Petersson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vallvik IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dick Petersson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 81 minutes into the match, Matthias Kuse had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of John Odeen. Ånge IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matthias Kuse was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Alf Stensson kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. In the 87th match minute, Vallvik IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl-Åke Klemensson to maneuver through the defense. John Odeen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dick Petersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
