Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Lyrestad's Harry Ek started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Varnhem's goalkeeper Ragnar Snell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ragnar Snell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens-Ove Botvidsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Örjan Söderberg during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 7th match minute, Lyrestad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Örjan Söderberg to maneuver through the defense. Ragnar Snell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens-Ove Botvidsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 15 minutes into the match Harry Ek climbed in front of goal and pressed up 1-0 in the right cross behind a totally surprised Ragnar Snell. When Harry Ek came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Lyrestad fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Harry Ek couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Berg in the 20th minute of play forced Lyrestad's goalkeeper Fredric Runeberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Varnhem's goalkeeper Ragnar Snell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sven-Erik Dahlberg. Ragnar Snell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jens-Ove Botvidsson in the 35th minute of the match. Jens-Ove Botvidsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ragnar Snell having to interfere. Jens-Ove Botvidsson struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Ragnar Snell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lyrestad. Harry Ek could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Ragnar Snell made a huge save. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mark Berg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fredric Runeberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Berg in the 52nd minute of play. If Harry Ek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jens-Ove Botvidsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ragnar Snell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. Jonas Flink hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jan Mickelsson during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Varnhem! In the 63rd minute there was a penalty for Lyrestad. Harry Ek stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ragnar Snell. 2-0. In the 66th minute Harry Ek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ragnar Snell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jens-Ove Botvidsson took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ragnar Snell. Ragnar Snell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. The supporters of Lyrestad booed when Varnhem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonas Flink didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Varnhem's Jonas Flink got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Jens-Ove Botvidsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ragnar Snell having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jens-Ove Botvidsson in the 89th minute of play forced Varnhem's goalkeeper Ragnar Snell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lars Lindqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Fredric Runeberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven Wallin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Fredric Runeberg made a huge save. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Lyrestad had played much better football throughout.
