When Arne Hasselqvist came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Väröbacka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arne Hasselqvist couldn't finish the play. Andréas Kalfhage received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Claes Hellsing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Söderköping IF's Ingemar Qvalfeldt slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sverker Thorsberg. That made the score 2-0 after 20 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Söderköping IF's Douglas Molander got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 33 minutes into the match, Ingemar Qvalfeldt dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sverker Thorsberg, 3-0. In the 43rd minute, Väröbacka's Kenny Johansson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Kenny Johansson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Väröbacka protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Kenny Johansson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Väröbacka fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 43rd minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 45 minutes, Söderköping IF's Douglas Molander got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Sverker Thorsberg.

Arne Hasselqvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claes Hellsing having to interfere. The referee ignored Söderköping IF's protests and gave Valdemar Trulsson a yellow card for diving instead. Malcolm Öfverman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. In the 79th minute, Ingemar Qvalfeldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sverker Thorsberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Magne Johnsson in the 80th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Magne Johnsson in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sverker Thorsberg saved Väröbacka from getting behind. Ingemar Qvalfeldt might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sverker Thorsberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ingemar Qvalfeldt ran back to his position shaking his head. When Arne Hasselqvist came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Väröbacka fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arne Hasselqvist couldn't finish the play. Väröbacka's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Söderköping IF had won, even though Väröbacka had held more of the ball.
