Swindon FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fårbo BF the free kick. In the 7th match minute, Swindon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernt Göransson to maneuver through the defense. When Börje Skoglund fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fårbo BF's protests and gave Börje Skoglund a yellow card for diving instead. Börje Skoglund hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the 14th minute of the match, Bertil Pil got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bernt Ekelund was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 14 minutes into the game, one of Fårbo BF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 16 minutes, Swindon FC's Roger Broman got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Bernt Ekelund. Kaj Forssberg kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. After having played for 31 minutes, Bertil Pil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Swindon FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bertil Pil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute, Bertil Pil ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernt Ekelund was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 40th minute, Börje Skoglund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute, Egon Bergman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stig-Ove Bergqvist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Fårbo BF defense, Leif Kilstedt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernt Ekelund. The Fårbo BF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernt Ekelund should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Bertil Pil's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernt Ekelund was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by George Häger during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Fårbo BF's George Häger got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Bertil Pil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leif Kilstedt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Bernt Ekelund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Bertil Pil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 73 minutes of play Fårbo BF's Börje Skoglund was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Börje Skoglund hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Leif Kilstedt blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bernt Ekelund having to make a save. Bernt Ekelund took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bertil Pil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leif Kilstedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fårbo BF's goalkeeper Bernt Ekelund, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Swindon FC had played much better football throughout.
