The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute, Pelle Bergkvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Robert Pilgren charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robert Pilgren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Robert Pilgren kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Börje Lindström had great luck who in the 13thth minute grab hold of the ball when Tom Apelkvist from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After 14 played minutes Västervik got a freekick which was hit by Kaj Lidman. Joseph Alströmmer who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 16thth minute tested the skills of Börje Lindström when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Joseph Alströmmer's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Börje Lindström skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Oskar Björkqvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Magnus Sjö tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Alf Olsman fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ödeshög FF's protests and gave Alf Olsman a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Västervik booed when Ödeshög FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alf Olsman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pelle Bergkvist struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Magnus Sjö didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Västervik. A collision led to Ödeshög FF getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Alf Olsman hit a great ball. Pelle Bergkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes, Sven-Oskar Malmberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ödeshög FF and the Västervik players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 30th minute, Sven-Oskar Malmberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Västervik's Robert Pilgren got his second yellow card of the match in the 34th minute. The referee ordered Robert Pilgren off the ground. A collision led to Västervik getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Robert Pilgren hit a great ball. 35 minutes into the game, Joseph Alströmmer lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Börje Lindström. After 43 minutes of play Västervik's Kaj Lidman was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Västervik getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Kaj Lidman hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oskar Björkqvist made a kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Ödeshög FF's Tom Apelkvist made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Börje Lindström was left in no man's land by his defense there! In a very dangerous position, a player in Västervik fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 56th minute. Penalty! In the 57th minute there was a penalty for Ödeshög FF. Freddie Broberg stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Börje Lindström. 3-0. In the 62nd minute Joseph Alströmmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Lindström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joseph Alströmmer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Börje Lindström having to interfere. In the 71st match minute, Västervik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Bock to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Västervik's zone, Freddie Broberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Börje Lindström came out of the goal and Freddie Broberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ödeshög FF's Joseph Alströmmer in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Västervik's goalie prevented a goal. After 76 played minutes Västervik got a freekick which was hit by Pelle Bergkvist. Börje Lindström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joseph Alströmmer in the 78th minute of play. Pelle Bergkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Magnus Sjö tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th match minute, Ödeshög FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tobias Grönlund to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute Joseph Alströmmer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Lindström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Västervik's Oskar Björkqvist got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Ödeshög FF were victorious despite being under pressure from Västervik for much of the match.
