The supporters of Norrköping FF booed when Rusksele IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pontus Forsman didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Ian Broberg from long distance, 7 minutes into the match, got Bengt-Arne Lundhberg's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Joacim Salkvist hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Vilgot Lundqvist struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Bengt-Arne Lundhberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Norrköping FF. Markus Koch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Bengt-Arne Lundhberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15thth minute of the game Edmund Sjöman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Norrköping FF's Matthias Sandström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Edmund Sjöman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Matthias Sandström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the game, Joacim Salkvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rusksele IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Norrköping FF the free kick. Joacim Salkvist hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Norrköping FF's Ian Broberg shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 22nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bengt-Arne Lundhberg but with some difficulty. After a rather tough play, Rusksele IF's Joacim Salkvist got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute Markus Koch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt-Arne Lundhberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Norrköping FF's Mikael Godholm suffered a concussion after 25 minutes and had to leave the field. During the 25th minute of the match Joacim Salkvist completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Joacim Salkvist a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Rusksele IF's Joacim Salkvist got a free kick in the 27th minute. Bengt-Arne Lundhberg was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ian Broberg. When Jens-Erik Jönsätt came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Rusksele IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jens-Erik Jönsätt couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute, Vilgot Lundqvist got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute Torbjörn Mattsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt-Arne Lundhberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 36 played minutes Rusksele IF got a freekick which was hit by Pontus Forsman. 37 minutes into the match, Norrköping FF's Ian Broberg broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Rusksele IF's Bengt-Arne Lundhberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Rusksele IF from getting a goal against them. When Edmund Sjöman fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rusksele IF's protests and gave Edmund Sjöman a yellow card for diving instead. If Vilgot Lundqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The wind increased when Vilgot Lundqvist made the kick off in the second half. When Markus Koch fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Norrköping FF's protests and gave Markus Koch a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Markus Koch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 70 minutes, Stellan Anundsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rusksele IF and the Norrköping FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 70 played minutes Rusksele IF got a freekick which was hit by Stellan Anundsson. The audience was convinced that Vilgot Lundqvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bengt-Arne Lundhberg was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jens-Erik Jönsätt got free with Matthias Sandström in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Greger Harlén hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 80 minutes into the match, Vilgot Lundqvist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bengt-Arne Lundhberg. Rusksele IF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vilgot Lundqvist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 88th minute Vilgot Lundqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bengt-Arne Lundhberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jens-Erik Jönsätt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matthias Sandström having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Norrköping FF had won after a very even match.
