Vallåkra RK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Vilgot Ahlin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Vilgot Ahlin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Vallåkra RK's Stig Biörk did a great save. The crowd rose to their feet as Piteå IF's Daniel Persson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Stig Biörk. That made the score 1-0 after 29 minutes of play. The audience was convinced that Ian Pihlgren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Karl-Erik Bollström was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Karl-Erik Bollström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gottfrid Björklund, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Pontus Thorsberg charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 91 minutes into the match, Piteå IF's goalkeeper Karl-Erik Bollström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gottfrid Björklund. The corner led to Vallåkra RK's Marc Söderström getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
