After some careless play in the Nyland defense, Vilgot Lekberg kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hubert Lund. The Nyland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hubert Lund should have stopped the shot. Wictor Mickelsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 22nd minute, Henning Sjögren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vilgot Lekberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Hubert Lund made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Katrineholm BK's Wictor Mickelsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hubert Lund. That made the score 2-0 after 30 minutes of play. 33 minutes into the match, Katrineholm BK's Vilgot Lekberg sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hubert Lund narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 35th minute, Wictor Mickelsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wictor Mickelsson in the 38th minute of play forced Nyland's goalkeeper Hubert Lund to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Verner Askstedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Björn Sandberg having to interfere. In the 40th minute, Folke Lidberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nyland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Folke Lidberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Björn Sandberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Katrineholm BK's Marcus Jespersson pulled a muscle in his back after 51 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Carl Björnsson's late challenge caught a Katrineholm BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carl Björnsson helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Nyland getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Carl Björnsson hit a great ball. 58 minutes into the match, Vilgot Lekberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hubert Lund. Nyland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vilgot Lekberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Björn Sandberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Folke Lidberg's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Vilgot Lekberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Katrineholm BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Vilgot Lekberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hubert Lund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vilgot Lekberg in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hubert Lund saved Nyland from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Verner Askstedt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nyland's supporters rose to their feet, but Verner Askstedt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Björn Sandberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Folke Lidberg came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Nyland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Folke Lidberg couldn't finish the play. Katrineholm BK's Vilgot Lekberg suffered a concussion in the 77th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Benjamin Skoglund's late challenge caught a Katrineholm BK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamin Skoglund helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 77th minute of the game. One of Nyland:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Katrineholm BK:s goal. The referee gave Katrineholm BK a penalty, 80 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ture Spetz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Nyland's Hubert Lund. 4-1. 83 minutes into the game, Nyland's Verner Askstedt nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Björn Sandberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2.
