The referee ignored Märsta BF's protests and gave Lennart Gustavsson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Märsta BF getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Lennart Gustavsson hit a great ball. Bengt-Åke Dahlman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dag Törnblom, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. With 10 minutes on the clock, Robin Utter commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 10th minute, one of Handmåla FK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Handmåla FK. In the 12th minute there was a penalty for Märsta BF. Dag Nässén stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bengt-Åke Dahlman. 0-1. When Bengt-Rune Billvall fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Handmåla FK's protests and gave Bengt-Rune Billvall a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute, Bengt-Rune Billvall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, Märsta BF's Thomas Vallman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bengt-Åke Dahlman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 28th minute, Albert Alrot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 34th minute, Märsta BF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gustaf Stenkvist fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Richard Vennerström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tommy Smed, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thomas Vallman in the 38th minute of play forced Handmåla FK's goalkeeper Bengt-Åke Dahlman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thomas Vallman was the one to do the kick off. Joacim Löv struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Bengt-Åke Dahlman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Märsta BF. Dag Törnblom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Bengt-Åke Dahlman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Handmåla FK's Bengt-Rune Billvall got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 67thth minute of the game Thomas Vallman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Handmåla FK's Bengt-Åke Dahlman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thomas Vallman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bengt-Åke Dahlman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas Vallman in the 86th minute of the match. After 87 played minutes Märsta BF got a freekick which was hit by Arvid Brander. In the 90th minute, Östen Ambjörnsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Handmåla FK fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Märsta BF were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
