The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joacim Westerstrand stood somewhat misplaced when Osvald Westerberg came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 5 minute. With a little luck, Gävle BK's Joacim Westerstrand got control of the ball when Peter Wik tried to sneak it across the goal line. Göran Nordström kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. If Nils-Erik Liljeström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Gävle BK's Carl Valler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Viktor Lindsten narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Lars-Erik Bollström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gävle BK's Joacim Westerstrand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torsten Flinck in the 35th minute of play. Nils-Erik Liljeström struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Joacim Westerstrand didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Svinstian FK. Osvald Westerberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joacim Westerstrand. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osvald Westerberg ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 40th minute Carl Valler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Lindsten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 40 played minutes Svinstian FK got a freekick which was hit by Torsten Flinck. After 42 minutes, Nils-Erik Liljeström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Svinstian FK and the Gävle BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nils-Erik Liljeström hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Lars-Erik Bollström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Viktor Lindsten having to interfere. Nils-Erik Liljeström was shown his second yellow card after 53 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Lars-Erik Bollström took the ball and in the 56 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Viktor Lindsten. Viktor Lindsten dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Svinstian FK's Viktor Lindsten proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Svinstian FK from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osvald Westerberg in the 65th minute of play forced Gävle BK's goalkeeper Joacim Westerstrand to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bo Knutsson hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the match, Göran Nordström had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Viktor Lindsten. Svinstian FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Göran Nordström was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. Kennet Aspengren hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Gävle BK's Bernt Vestlund got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pär Lundqvist kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Svinstian FK's Viktor Lindsten got control of the ball when Lars-Erik Bollström tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 92nd minute Göran Nordström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viktor Lindsten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gävle BK's zone, Torsten Flinck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joacim Westerstrand came out of the goal and Torsten Flinck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Osvald Westerberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Joacim Westerstrand tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Although Svinstian FK had been in control for most of the match, Gävle BK still came away with the win.
