The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience thought a goal was coming when Torsten Majman got free with Hubert Löfgren in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Johnny Lundkvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Ekström in the 13th minute of the match. Torsten Majman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Hubert Löfgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Karlholmsbruk IFK's goalkeeper Hubert Löfgren had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Torsten Majman. Tobias Gunnarsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Johnny Lundkvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Johnny Lundkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaf Johansson, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Gunnarsson in the 26th minute of play forced Almunge BF's goalkeeper Johnny Lundkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 minutes, Tobias Gunnarsson made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Almunge BF's Johnny Lundkvist tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rune Kolberg hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tobias Gunnarsson to make the kick off. Jan Ekström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Lundkvist having to interfere. After 55 minutes, Tobias Gunnarsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Karlholmsbruk IFK and the Almunge BF players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Karlholmsbruk IFK getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Tobias Gunnarsson hit a great ball. If Gustaf Johansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torsten Majman in the 63rd minute of play forced Karlholmsbruk IFK's goalkeeper Hubert Löfgren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Staffan Låsberg fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karlholmsbruk IFK's protests and gave Staffan Låsberg a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Karlholmsbruk IFK's Staffan Låsberg got a free kick in the 64th minute. Hubert Löfgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Torsten Majman, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Leif Fribäck in the 70th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Karlholmsbruk IFK's Vilhelm Ahlgren. After 73rd play minutes Tobias Gunnarsson shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Johnny Lundkvist and just under the crossbar into goal. Stig-Arne Berggren charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stig-Arne Berggren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 77 played minutes Almunge BF got a freekick which was hit by Stig-Arne Berggren. With his leg Johnny Lundkvist managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Karlholmsbruk IFK's Tobias Gunnarsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tobias Gunnarsson in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnny Lundkvist saved Almunge BF from getting behind. Vilhelm Ahlgren fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Lundkvist having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Tobias Gunnarsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johnny Lundkvist was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Johnny Lundkvist made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Gustaf Johansson sent off a good shot on target.
