Tobias Söderlund showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Hellström in the 6th minute of the match. Rudolf Duset's late challenge caught a Danderyd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rudolf Duset helped the player get up and apologised. Rudolf Duset hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After 11 minutes of play Filipstad IK's Rudolf Duset was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 12th minute, Rudolf Duset hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Danderyd's Erland Ekeberg got control of the ball when Karl-Ove Carlsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. When William Hegg fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Filipstad IK's protests and gave William Hegg a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Danderyd booed when Filipstad IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Hegg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th minute of the match Elias Nykvist shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tobias Söderlund showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Per-Arne Alfors sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Karl-Ove Carlsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Erland Ekeberg made a huge save. 37 minutes into the match, Osvald Kolberg dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Erland Ekeberg, 1-0. Karl-Ove Carlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erland Ekeberg having to interfere. Karl-Ove Carlsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Erland Ekeberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 47 minutes into the game, Peter Fransson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Filipstad IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Danderyd the free kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tommy Hellström made the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes, Osvald Kolberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Filipstad IK and the Danderyd players grew even worse after the yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Per-Arne Alfors got free with Tobias Söderlund in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erland Ekeberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Karl-Ove Carlsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 65 played minutes Filipstad IK got a freekick which was hit by Peter Fransson. Elias Nykvist took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 66th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tobias Söderlund. Filipstad IK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Per-Arne Alfors had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute Tommy Hellström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tobias Söderlund saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Per-Arne Alfors might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tobias Söderlund. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Per-Arne Alfors ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Per-Arne Alfors managed to get in a good position for a shot. Danderyd's supporters rose to their feet, but Per-Arne Alfors was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tobias Söderlund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Karl-Ove Carlsson charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Karl-Ove Carlsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 81 played minutes Filipstad IK got a freekick which was hit by Karl-Ove Carlsson. After 86 minutes of play, Filipstad IK's Karl-Ove Carlsson made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erland Ekeberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Karl-Ove Carlsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Karl-Ove Carlsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Filipstad IK's supporters rose to their feet, but Karl-Ove Carlsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erland Ekeberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Filipstad IK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
