Sture Sundberg hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Fred Bennet blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Valdemar Fågel having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Richard Kjellbom stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mikael Hamberg's late challenge caught a Lilla edet IK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Västerljung's supporters rose to their feet, but Jörgen Viklund was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdemar Fågel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jörgen Viklund in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdemar Fågel saved Lilla edet IK from getting behind. Bengt-Rune Åkesson hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. If Jörgen Viklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Västerljung supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Lilla edet IK's performance. The match ended with a win for Lilla edet IK.
