After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Bengt Bergström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ås IFK's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt Bergström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Douglas Vallin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 11 minutes into the match, Edsbruk IF's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt Bergström came free, but Douglas Vallin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carl Gernberg in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tord Vallman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 15th minute, Erling Olofsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bengt Bergström fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Vallin having to interfere. Bengt Bergström sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sven Mattsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute, Arne Ekström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Douglas Vallin made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Greger Näver sent off a good shot on target. Bengt Bergström struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Leonardo Vikström charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonardo Vikström the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ås IFK getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Leonardo Vikström hit a great ball. The supporters of Ås IFK booed when Edsbruk IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jerry Vallin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Greger Näver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 42 played minutes Edsbruk IF got a freekick which was hit by Erling Olofsson. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Edsbruk IF's goalkeeper Douglas Vallin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bengt Bergström to make the kick off. In the 59th minute, Sven Mattsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Sven Mattsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ås IFK's zone, Carl Gernberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tord Vallman came out of the goal and Carl Gernberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Douglas Vallin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Greger Näver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Greger Näver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edsbruk IF's Douglas Vallin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Greger Näver in the 82nd minute of play. Douglas Vallin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Greger Näver in the 93rd minute of the match. Bengt Bergström received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Douglas Vallin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Ås IFK fans cheered their team off the field, for while Edsbruk IF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
