When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Edvard Albäck sped through Ytterby's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Evert Paulin. 18 minutes into the match, Dennis Björklund notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Säve BF's Patrik Säf. Patrik Säf was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Dennis Björklund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 33 minutes into the game, Markus Möllgren was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ytterby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Säve BF the free kick. In the 33rd match minute, Ytterby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Markus Möllgren to maneuver through the defense. Ingmar Spetz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evert Paulin having to interfere. Dennis Björklund struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Patrik Säf didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ytterby. Ytterby's Dennis Björklund got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Olov Klack came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Ytterby fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olov Klack couldn't finish the play. After the first half Ytterby were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ingmar Spetz was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute of the match, Einar Ek got a very nice opportunity to score, but Patrik Säf was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 53 minutes, Jan Arvidsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Säve BF and the Ytterby players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Ingmar Spetz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patrik Säf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olov Klack in the 82nd minute of play. If Tim Hake had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 87 minutes of play, Ytterby's Olov Klack made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Patrik Säf was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ytterby's Einar Ek got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dennis Björklund got free with Patrik Säf in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Johannes Lundin during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Säve BF getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Johannes Lundin hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Olov Klack took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Patrik Säf to make any attempt to save it.
