An unexpectedly hard shot by Bertil Lägdin in the 4th minute of play forced Nyland's goalkeeper Per Fransson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 13 played minutes Nyland got a freekick which was hit by Ivar Joensson. Per Fransson acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 13th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Henric Berglund. Sävsjöström's Bertil Lägdin got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Birger Sander received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Per Fransson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Nyland booed when Sävsjöström was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roger Ivarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivar Joensson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Igelström having to interfere. If Hampus Säf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Nyland fans' excitement grew in the 31st match minute when Nyland's Michel Pettersson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Nyland getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Dan Sigman hit a great ball. Sävsjöström's Henric Berglund couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 39th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Nyland. Per Fransson made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Birger Sander sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Birger Sander got free with Per Fransson in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Birger Sander struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Per Fransson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sävsjöström. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bertil Lägdin to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Sävsjöström's zone, Michel Pettersson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomas Igelström came out of the goal and Michel Pettersson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Hampus Säf came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Nyland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hampus Säf couldn't finish the play. Hampus Säf fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Igelström having to interfere. Thomas Igelström made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Michel Pettersson sent off a good shot on target.
