With an all-out effort, Loverpool's Magnus Norberg threw himself towards the right post 2 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Otto Blom, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Stefan Kilberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarl Apelquist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 9th match minute, Loverpool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per Askberg to maneuver through the defense. Stefan Kilberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jarl Apelquist's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. Magnus Norberg made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Felix Lindqvist sent off a good shot on target. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 17th minute of the game. One of Loverpool:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Liverpool:s goal. In the 19th minute there was a penalty for FC Liverpool. Sigvard Hagberg stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Stefan Kilberg. 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, Jarl Apelquist had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stefan Kilberg. Loverpool's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jarl Apelquist was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Felix Lindqvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Magnus Norberg made a huge save. When Tobias Sigman fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Liverpool's protests and gave Tobias Sigman a yellow card for diving instead. Magnus Norberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gösta Håkansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Loverpool's Stefan Kilberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarl Apelquist in the 43rd minute of play. If Abraham Brouwers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 44 minutes of play, FC Liverpool's Jarl Apelquist made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stefan Kilberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gösta Håkansson to strike the kick off in the second half. Stefan Kilberg was a little too slow when Abraham Brouwers got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 0-4. 58 minutes into the game, Jarl Apelquist lined in a short shot 0-5 behind a frustrated Stefan Kilberg. In the 71st minute Jarl Apelquist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefan Kilberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 72 minutes of play, FC Liverpool's Abraham Brouwers made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stefan Kilberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC Liverpool's Sigvard Hagberg couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 81st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Loverpool. Stefan Kilberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jarl Apelquist's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. With a little luck, Loverpool's Stefan Kilberg got control of the ball when Abraham Brouwers tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 90thth minute of the game Jarl Apelquist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Loverpool's Stefan Kilberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jarl Apelquist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the final whistle sounded FC Liverpool left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Loverpool.
