Bengt-Åke Carlsson came out of the goal and Bernt Boman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bernt Boman during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sjöbo FF's Bernt Boman got a free kick in the 17th minute. Joel Viberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sune Lindgren in the 21st minute of play. Gandalfs IF's Gustaf Wallmark got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Harry Hägglund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30thth minute of the game Harry Hägglund who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sjöbo FF's Joel Viberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Harry Hägglund blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joel Viberg having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Harry Hägglund in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Viberg prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 35th minute, Harry Hägglund left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gandalfs IF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 39 minutes into the game, Bernt Boman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Bengt-Åke Carlsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bengt-Åke Carlsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernt Boman, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Mathias Hammarbäck took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joel Viberg. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gustaf Wallmark was the one to do the kick off.
