The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Börje Ahlkvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henning Holm, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 4 minutes into the game, Börge Ros cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Börje Ahlkvist was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Börje Ahlkvist didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Henning Holm went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Karl-Åke Bolander was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Conny Låsberg capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Conny Låsberg really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Börge Ros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Börje Ahlkvist having to interfere. If Börge Ros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Kvicksund Elite Academy's Lars Nordin got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Horna IF's goalkeeper Karl-Åke Bolander, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jon Tham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Börje Ahlkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kvicksund Elite Academy's Börje Ahlkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Börge Ros in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peder Eskilsson in the 42nd minute of play forced Kvicksund Elite Academy's goalkeeper Börje Ahlkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Jon Tham had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Börje Ahlkvist. Kvicksund Elite Academy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jon Tham was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Börge Ros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Börje Ahlkvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Conny Låsberg to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Jon Tham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Horna IF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jon Tham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ernst Kjellberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Karl-Åke Bolander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th match minute, Kvicksund Elite Academy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conny Låsberg to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lennart Magnusson during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Horna IF's Sune Klemensson was substituted for Börge Ros. When the match had been going on for 74 minutes, Horna IF's Casper Lööf got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Börje Ahlkvist. Kvicksund Elite Academy's Börje Ahlkvist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Tham in the 78th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henning Holm in the 89th minute of play forced Kvicksund Elite Academy's goalkeeper Börje Ahlkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute Jon Tham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Börje Ahlkvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kvicksund Elite Academy's Börje Ahlkvist proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Kvicksund Elite Academy from getting a goal against them. Horna IF's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
