A collision led to Fotbolls Grisarna getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Ingemar Fransson hit a great ball. Sverker Lange kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute of the match Jan Gerdberg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven-Olof Tunander skillfully saved the ball. Sven Rolfsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stephan Gardner, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Sven Rolfsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingemar Fransson in the 29th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joacim Hedvall in the 31st minute of play forced Fotbolls Grisarna's goalkeeper Sven-Olof Tunander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Östra Frölunda's Erling Strömbom got a free kick in the 45th minute. A collision led to Fotbolls Grisarna getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Viggo Påk hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ingemar Fransson to make the kick off. Östra Frölunda's Sven Rolfsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Östra Frölunda from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kennet Bolander in the 58th minute of play forced Fotbolls Grisarna's goalkeeper Sven-Olof Tunander to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 61 minutes, Edvard Martinsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Östra Frölunda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edvard Martinsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Östra Frölunda's Ingmar Kolberg was substituted for Joakim Fagerberg. Östra Frölunda made a substitution. If Edvard Martinsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
