AC United's Alf Engman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Magnus Högberg in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd minute Joel Lindman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vidar Kellbom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vidar Kellbom was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Hammarstrand's Viktor Örtlund got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute Bernt Carlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vidar Kellbom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After taking down the ball on AC United's corner Joel Lindman fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Vidar Kellbom quite easily take care of the ball. Hammarstrand's Alexander Mellin got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Lindman stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in AC United's zone, Axel Lindell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alf Engman came out of the goal and Axel Lindell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gösta Kvalfält kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Alf Engman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Min Maja, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 56th minute Magnus Högberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Engman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rune Olofsson in the 58th minute of play forced Hammarstrand's goalkeeper Vidar Kellbom to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vidar Kellbom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rune Olofsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alexander Mellin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, AC United's goal looked a bit too open when Magnus Högberg came free, but Alf Engman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joel Lindman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Vidar Kellbom made a huge save. After 78 played minutes Hammarstrand got a freekick which was hit by Axel Lindell. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joel Lindman got free with Vidar Kellbom in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arne Alén could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Vidar Kellbom made a huge save. After some careless play in the Hammarstrand defense, Joel Lindman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vidar Kellbom. The Hammarstrand fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Vidar Kellbom should have stopped the shot. Rune Olofsson struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Vidar Kellbom didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AC United. The supporters of Hammarstrand booed when AC United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gösta Kvalfält didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched AC United eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
