Igor Grocholski kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Klement Zworski kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Lech Rakowicz hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. AS Monaco's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mariusz Damaski in the 15th minute. A nice corner shot did that Mariusz Damaski got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Krzysztof Walicki quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, KKS Lech Poznań's Ulu Durdu got a free kick in the 23rd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Şeray Kocaker notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of KKS Lech Poznań's Krzysztof Walicki. Krzysztof Walicki was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ludomil Zalipski in the 31st minute of play forced KKS Lech Poznań's goalkeeper Krzysztof Walicki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Leonard Nalaskowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Şeray Kocaker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AS Monaco fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Artur Pietrowiak might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Piotr Podowski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Artur Pietrowiak ran back to his position shaking his head. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Piotr Podowski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leonard Nalaskowski's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. In the 54th minute, Leonard Nalaskowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Artur Pietrowiak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Piotr Podowski having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Leonard Nalaskowski made a precise shot to the right of Piotr Podowski. AS Monaco's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. 71 minutes into the game, Ulu Durdu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Piotr Podowski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, KKS Lech Poznań's Artur Pietrowiak got a free kick in the 75th minute. After having played for 80 minutes, Şeray Kocaker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. AS Monaco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Şeray Kocaker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 83rd minute, KKS Lech Poznań's Ulu Durdu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ulu Durdu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of KKS Lech Poznań protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ulu Durdu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 82nd minute, one of KKS Lech Poznań:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KKS Lech Poznań. In the 84th minute there was a penalty for AS Monaco. Mariusz Damaski stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Krzysztof Walicki. 2-3. Krzysztof Walicki was a little too slow when Şeray Kocaker got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 94th minute. The score was now 2-4. The supporters of AS Monaco booed when KKS Lech Poznań was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Grocholski didn't get a good kick on the ball. AS Monaco's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
