Janusz Balonek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. If Waldemar Setara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Borys Wawrukiewicz kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 27th minute of the match Olaf Wos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Janusz Balonek skillfully saved the ball. In the 36th minute Waldemar Setara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Janusz Balonek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Marian Pleban left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ruch Radzionków fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tymoteusz Tarka to make the kick off. Bernard Piglowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boleslaw Wolnik hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Janusz Balonek had great luck who in the 87thth minute grab hold of the ball when Bernard Piglowski from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Janusz Balonek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Waldemar Setara in the 89th minute. Waldemar Setara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Janusz Balonek made a huge save.
