Eugeniusz Kicia made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Karp in the 19th minute. Eugeniusz Kicia was a little too slow when Pawel Dyczkowski got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 21st minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 24th minute Gustaw Bochinski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugeniusz Kicia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fryderyk Pawlak stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lech Dylla's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. After some careless play in the Zawisza Bydgoszcz defense, Przemyslaw Moczkiewicz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eugeniusz Kicia. The Zawisza Bydgoszcz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eugeniusz Kicia should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Lech Dylla's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fryderyk Pawlak was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Fryderyk Pawlak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lech Dylla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wladyslaw Bury fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fryderyk Pawlak having to interfere. Eugeniusz Kicia made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Przemyslaw Moczkiewicz sent off a good shot on target. 45 minutes into the match, Zawisza Bydgoszcz's goal looked a bit too open when Pawel Dyczkowski came free, but Eugeniusz Kicia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gustaw Bochinski was the one to do the kick off. When Lech Dylla came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Zawisza Bydgoszcz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lech Dylla couldn't finish the play. Piotr Misiewicz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Piotr Misiewicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 66th minute, Adam Pryla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Zawisza Bydgoszcz's zone, Gustaw Bochinski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugeniusz Kicia came out of the goal and Gustaw Bochinski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 75 minutes into the game, Zbigniew Ranowiecki cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Eugeniusz Kicia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Przemyslaw Moczkiewicz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute Gustaw Bochinski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugeniusz Kicia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastjanowo SA's Gustaw Bochinski got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Witomir Sedzikowski made in the 95th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Daniel Karp however managed to control.
