The supporters of BKS Zagłębie Bieruń booed when Niewykorzystane szanse was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 34th minute Tadeusz Ptaszek shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cezary Lerych saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cezary Lerych took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeusz Ptaszek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jerzy Degutis made a kick off. BKS Zagłębie Bieruń's Tadeusz Ptaszek got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Tadeusz Ptaszek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cezary Lerych showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerzy Degutis, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute, BKS Zagłębie Bieruń's Jerzy Degutis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Cezary Lerych. Cezary Lerych yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Miromir Terasek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Zachary Drapinski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Jerzy Degutis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BKS Zagłębie Bieruń's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerzy Degutis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tadeusz Ptaszek recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jerzy Degutis hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After 94 played minutes BKS Zagłębie Bieruń got a freekick which was hit by Teobald Golota. The BKS Zagłębie Bieruń supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing BKS Zagłębie Bieruń would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
