Górnik Zabrze's Szymon Erland proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Górnik Zabrze from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Górnik Zabrze getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Ksawery Sakowicz hit a great ball. 9 minutes into the match, Maciejowice's goal looked a bit too open when Cezary Golob came free, but Boleslaw Poling reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Milosz Debowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Górnik Zabrze's supporters rose to their feet, but Milosz Debowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boleslaw Poling breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cezary Golob fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boleslaw Poling having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Maciejowice's zone, Cezary Golob stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boleslaw Poling came out of the goal and Cezary Golob tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cezary Golob came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Górnik Zabrze fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezary Golob couldn't finish the play. In the 30th minute, Milosz Debowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Milosz Debowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boleslaw Poling having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Cezary Golob made a precise shot to the right of Boleslaw Poling. Maciejowice's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. If Walery Mazierski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Cezary Golob came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Górnik Zabrze fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezary Golob couldn't finish the play. Milosz Debowski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Boleslaw Poling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After 58 minutes, Ziemowit Balonek mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maciejowice and the Górnik Zabrze players grew even worse after the yellow card. Tolek Trzemzalski charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tolek Trzemzalski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezary Golob couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Górnik Zabrze had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
