The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Stanislaw Brzonkala stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Karol Wallach's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Karol Wallach did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Stanislaw Brzonkala 11 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damazy Dziechciowski in the 15th minute of play forced Górnik Łęczna's goalkeeper Stasio Wawrukiewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Górnik Łęczna's Luis-Javier Revuelta got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Górnik Łęczna getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Izydor Huchro hit a great ball. In the 24th match minute, Szygówek SA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lech Mierzejewski to maneuver through the defense. Szygówek SA's Stanislaw Brzonkala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karol Wallach in the 27th minute of play. Stanislaw Brzonkala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Karol Wallach in the 33rd minute of the match. When Górnik Łęczna's Karol Wallach in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Stanislaw Brzonkala tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karol Wallach in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Stanislaw Brzonkala prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 49th minute, Wieslaw Trela made a precise shot to the right of Stasio Wawrukiewicz. Górnik Łęczna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Damazy Dziechciowski was the one to do the kick off. When Luis-Javier Revuelta came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Górnik Łęczna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis-Javier Revuelta couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Szygówek SA's zone, Karol Wallach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stanislaw Brzonkala came out of the goal and Karol Wallach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Karol Wallach succeeded in the game's 67th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Górnik Łęczna's Luis-Javier Revuelta got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 74 minutes into the match, Górnik Łęczna's goalkeeper Stasio Wawrukiewicz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Witold Kochniarczyk. Witold Kochniarczyk came free with the goalkeeper in the 77th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Stasio Wawrukiewicz could save by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Luis-Javier Revuelta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Górnik Łęczna's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis-Javier Revuelta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stanislaw Brzonkala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Górnik Łęczna booed when Szygówek SA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilbert Gonsiewski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stanislaw Brzonkala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karol Wallach in the 82nd minute of play. Luis-Javier Revuelta might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stanislaw Brzonkala. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luis-Javier Revuelta ran back to his position shaking his head. Witold Kochniarczyk succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 90th playminute. Witold Kochniarczyk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stasio Wawrukiewicz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Witold Kochniarczyk in the 99th minute.
