But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fryderyk Balkiewicz couldn't finish the play. Sylwester Gondek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Wiater, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute Edgar Wiater shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sylwester Gondek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gunther Kerckmans got free with Sylwester Gondek in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edgar Wiater could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Sylwester Gondek made a huge save. FC Sporting Hades's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
