The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Tymoteusz Zembrzuski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's supporters rose to their feet, but Tymoteusz Zembrzuski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernard Wawak breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 6th minute, Tymoteusz Zembrzuski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zbyszko Gollob sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Tymoteusz Zembrzuski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 10 minutes, 周远亦 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's supporters crossed their fingers, but 周远亦 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Franciszek Pahucki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Miromir Laba made a huge save. In the 14th minute, Barnaba Hetman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 16th minute Szymon Zaremba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miromir Laba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 minutes Zawisza Bydgoszcz's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Filip Rode who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Smogorówka SA's corner Filip Rode fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Miromir Laba quite easily take care of the ball. Miromir Laba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Szymon Zaremba in the 21st minute of play. Zawisza Bydgoszcz's Miromir Laba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Szymon Zaremba in the 22nd minute of play. If 周远亦 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filip Rode hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute, 周远亦 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bernard Wawak was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 38 minutes into the match, Zawisza Bydgoszcz's goal looked a bit too open when Szymon Zaremba came free, but Miromir Laba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Czeslaw Szkaradek had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernard Wawak. Smogorówka SA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Czeslaw Szkaradek was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Szymon Zaremba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tymoteusz Zembrzuski in the 46th minute of play forced Smogorówka SA's goalkeeper Bernard Wawak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 周远亦 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernard Wawak having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tymoteusz Zembrzuski was the one to do the kick off. If Tymoteusz Zembrzuski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. César Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 62nd match minute, Smogorówka SA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stasio Drebit to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Smogorówka SA's zone, Tymoteusz Zembrzuski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernard Wawak came out of the goal and Tymoteusz Zembrzuski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 76 minutes had been played when some careless play by Smogorówka SA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sebastian Byczewski was slow to take the kick. During this time Zawisza Bydgoszcz's players had a chance to rest. Sebastian Byczewski made a great header on Zawisza Bydgoszcz's corner, it was just that Smogorówka SA's Bernard Wawak managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tymoteusz Zembrzuski in the 83rd minute of play forced Smogorówka SA's goalkeeper Bernard Wawak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
