Kaszczorek SSA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 10th minute, when Wiktor Golota scored to the left of an out of position Hugon Seliga, making the score, 1-1. If Arkadiusz Zjawin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Arkadiusz Zjawin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arkadiusz Zjawin in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cezary Penczkowski saved Górnik Zabrze from getting behind. In the 26th minute, Arkadiusz Zjawin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kaszczorek SSA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 30 minutes into the match, Andrzej Fabiszak dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Hugon Seliga, 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Milosz Puzio got free with Hugon Seliga in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 38 minutes, Arkadiusz Zjawin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kaszczorek SSA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arkadiusz Zjawin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Zygmunt Charamut hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 45 minutes into the match, Kaszczorek SSA's goalkeeper Hugon Seliga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andrzej Fabiszak. Hugon Seliga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiktor Golota in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, one of Kaszczorek SSA:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kaszczorek SSA. The referee gave Górnik Zabrze a penalty, 56 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ulryk Siwek, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Kaszczorek SSA's Hugon Seliga. 3-2. 60 minutes into the game, Górnik Zabrze's Andrzej Fabiszak nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hugon Seliga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. The supporters of Górnik Zabrze booed when Kaszczorek SSA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zygmunt Charamut didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Górnik Zabrze getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Alfred Makomaski hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Arkadiusz Zjawin managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kaszczorek SSA's supporters rose to their feet, but Arkadiusz Zjawin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cezary Penczkowski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hugon Seliga came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Górnik Zabrze's Andrzej Fabiszak. But to his dismay, Andrzej Fabiszak quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. Arkadiusz Zjawin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cezary Penczkowski having to interfere. Hugon Seliga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mikolaj Zagrodny in the 91st minute of the match. Kaszczorek SSA's Hugon Seliga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Milosz Puzio in the 93rd minute of play. If Arkadiusz Zjawin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mikolaj Zagrodny in the 98th minute of play forced Kaszczorek SSA's goalkeeper Hugon Seliga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
