The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gust Van Halbeeck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Marchlewicz went, in the 16th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Bartlomiej Wojtowicz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mariusz Kiszkiel came out and tried to block the shot, but Bartlomiej Wojtowicz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 23rd minute. After having played for 28 minutes, Janusz Dziedelonis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Blues Footbol Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Janusz Dziedelonis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Marchlewicz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 41 minutes into the game, Lubikowo's Daniel Marchlewicz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gust Van Halbeeck made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Olaf Domaracki's late challenge caught a The Blues Footbol Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
