The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Polonia Lidzbark Warm.'s Konstanty Beninda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jakub Tusk in the 5th minute of play. In the 8th minute, Roman Lamczyk made a precise shot to the right of Wit Piwowarski. Borussia Dortmund's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Roman Lamczyk hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Wit Piwowarski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ksawery Jarocewicz went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. A collision led to Polonia Lidzbark Warm. getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Dobromir Marciewicz hit a great ball. In the 35th minute of the match Wit Januszewski shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wit Piwowarski showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 36 minutes into the match, Borussia Dortmund's goal looked a bit too open when Ksawery Jarocewicz came free, but Wit Piwowarski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Roman Lamczyk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wit Piwowarski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Konstanty Beninda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sylwester Rostow's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. The Borussia Dortmund players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Polonia Lidzbark Warm. were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tansu Akata to make the kick off. Wit Piwowarski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roman Lamczyk in the 51st minute.
