Iwan Gmoch came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Gauden's Pankracy Wolicki. But to his dismay, Pankracy Wolicki quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 16 minutes into the match, Real Madryt's goal looked a bit too open when Janusz Majczyk came free, but Iwan Gmoch reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Damazy Niewiadomski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The supporters of Gauden booed when Real Madryt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iwan Gmoch showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.
