After 10 minutes, Tanek Rasiak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eagles Sosnowiec and the Zagłębie Sosnowiec players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 played minutes Eagles Sosnowiec got a freekick which was hit by Tanek Rasiak. In the 11th minute of the match Iwan Ryback shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Lucjan Olejniczak showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Slawomir Skikiewicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Izydor Japola struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Lucjan Olejniczak didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zagłębie Sosnowiec. Slawomir Skikiewicz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucjan Olejniczak having to interfere. Przemyslaw Czempa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wladyslaw Majczyk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Przemyslaw Czempa in the 34th minute. Zagłębie Sosnowiec's Slawomir Skikiewicz got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
