Wladyslaw Jaruzelski scored 1-0 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ignacy Pilarski, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 18 minutes into the game, Igor Bykowski lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Ignacy Pilarski. In the 21st minute Norbert Markowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Janusz Tamulewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Igor Bykowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 27th minute, Klement Kaczeniak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iwan Jaraczewski hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 37 played minutes F . C . Bytom got a freekick which was hit by Wladyslaw Jaruzelski. In the 39th minute Leszek Orling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Janusz Tamulewicz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 40th minute, Szymon Klocko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norbert Markowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Norbert Markowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Szczybule's supporters rose to their feet, but Norbert Markowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Janusz Tamulewicz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Iwan Jaraczewski kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Wladyslaw Jaruzelski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ignacy Pilarski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Igor Bykowski came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the F . C . Bytom fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Igor Bykowski couldn't finish the play. Janusz Tamulewicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norbert Markowski in the 59th minute of the match. Szczybule's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Korneliusz Pietrowicz in the 61st minute. In the 71st minute, Leszek Orling got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Norbert Markowski might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Janusz Tamulewicz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Norbert Markowski ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 80 minutes, Leszek Orling managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Szczybule's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leszek Orling was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Szymon Klocko's late challenge caught a Szczybule's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Szymon Klocko helped the player get up and apologised. When Cezary Borowski fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored F . C . Bytom's protests and gave Cezary Borowski a yellow card for diving instead. Korneliusz Pietrowicz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 87th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 89 minutes into the match, Leszek Orling had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Janusz Tamulewicz. F . C . Bytom's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leszek Orling was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Leszek Orling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Janusz Tamulewicz having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, F . C . Bytom could leave the field as winners, despite Szczybule having more of the ball for most of the match.
