The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Wlodzimierz Balonek managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maradz's supporters rose to their feet, but Wlodzimierz Balonek was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remigiusz Murdza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Zenon Kocieniewski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Maradz booed when Lechia Gdańsk SSA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boguslaw Kaczor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zenon Kocieniewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remigiusz Murdza having to interfere. With a little luck, Maradz's Fryderyk Gecionis got control of the ball when Dobromir Szostak tried to sneak it across the goal line. Boguslaw Pusiak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remigiusz Murdza having to interfere. Maradz's Wlodzimierz Balonek got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Maradz's Fryderyk Gecionis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zbigniew Debowski in the 21st minute of play. Boguslaw Pusiak kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Maradz's defense didn't have a chance, in the 24th minute, when Igor Kaczorowski scored to the left of an out of position Fryderyk Gecionis, making the score, 1-0. 28 minutes into the game, Boleslaw Lemiesz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lechia Gdańsk SSA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maradz the free kick. In the 29th minute, Boleslaw Lemiesz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Remigiusz Murdza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zenon Kocieniewski in the 32nd minute of play. Wlodzimierz Balonek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Remigiusz Murdza having to interfere. Remigiusz Murdza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zenon Kocieniewski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zenon Kocieniewski to make the kick off. Zenon Kocieniewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Remigiusz Murdza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zenon Kocieniewski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Maradz's zone, Dobromir Szostak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fryderyk Gecionis came out of the goal and Dobromir Szostak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Boguslaw Pusiak fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maradz's protests and gave Boguslaw Pusiak a yellow card for diving instead. After 59 played minutes Maradz got a freekick which was hit by Boguslaw Pusiak. Igor Kaczorowski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wlodzimierz Balonek received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Remigiusz Murdza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes into the match, Igor Kaczorowski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fryderyk Gecionis. Maradz's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Igor Kaczorowski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Remigiusz Murdza was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Zenon Kocieniewski capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Zenon Kocieniewski really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Igor Kaczorowski's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fryderyk Gecionis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. In the 85th minute Zenon Kocieniewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigiusz Murdza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 86th minute, Jacek Bielejewski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th minute Zenon Kocieniewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigiusz Murdza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wlodzimierz Balonek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remigiusz Murdza came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Maradz's Wlodzimierz Balonek. But to his dismay, Wlodzimierz Balonek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4. In the 94th play minute Wlodzimierz Balonek came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Remigiusz Murdza. 2-5.
