The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Arkadiusz Borcz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ŁKS Łódź fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Dominik Skrzypek's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilbert Owsiak read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arkadiusz Sienkiewicz got free with Gilbert Owsiak in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cezary Dziewulski struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Patryk Boruta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ŁKS Łódź. 15 minutes into the match, Bzura Zgierz's goal looked a bit too open when Arkadiusz Borcz came free, but Patryk Boruta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patryk Boruta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arkadiusz Borcz in the 16th minute of play. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind ŁKS Łódź's goalkeeper Gilbert Owsiak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 29 played minutes ŁKS Łódź got a freekick which was hit by Roch Kapera. Fabian Orszak kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Patryk Boruta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cezary Dziewulski in the 33rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dominik Skrzypek in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gilbert Owsiak prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arkadiusz Borcz to make the kick off. In the 58th minute, Cezary Dziewulski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilbert Owsiak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sylwester Ciszewski, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd match minute, ŁKS Łódź was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patryk Derlanga to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the match, Bzura Zgierz's goalkeeper Patryk Boruta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cezary Dziewulski. Bzura Zgierz's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dominik Skrzypek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arkadiusz Sienkiewicz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 86thth minute of the game Arkadiusz Borcz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bzura Zgierz's Patryk Boruta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. ŁKS Łódź's Gilbert Owsiak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominik Skrzypek in the 92nd minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. ŁKS Łódź had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
