After 9 minutes, Ulryk Niedbalski mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Krakau and the Gazowsze Sanok players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th minute, Gazowsze Sanok's Radomir Jajko dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Zenon Brudzisz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boleslaw Korytkowski in the 15th minute of play. Radomir Jajko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tadeusz Dobilas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. The supporters of Gazowsze Sanok booed when Krakau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartosz Frenzel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zdzislaw Rakowski kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Radomir Jajko managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gazowsze Sanok's supporters rose to their feet, but Radomir Jajko was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tadeusz Dobilas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roland Czajka fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeusz Dobilas having to interfere. Eugeniusz Tychy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zenon Brudzisz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Zenon Brudzisz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eugeniusz Tychy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zenon Brudzisz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugeniusz Tychy, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Boleslaw Korytkowski struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Zenon Brudzisz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Krakau. Eugeniusz Tychy succeeded in the game's 61st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. In the 65th minute Eugeniusz Tychy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zenon Brudzisz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Krakau getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Wasyl Wykowski hit a great ball. Zenon Brudzisz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Boleslaw Korytkowski in the 72nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Boleslaw Korytkowski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Krakau's supporters rose to their feet, but Boleslaw Korytkowski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zenon Brudzisz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gazowsze Sanok's goalkeeper Zenon Brudzisz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 87 minutes into the game, Boleslaw Korytkowski lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Zenon Brudzisz. Gazowsze Sanok's Zenon Brudzisz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Gazowsze Sanok from getting a goal against them. Boleslaw Korytkowski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zenon Brudzisz having to interfere. Eugeniusz Tychy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Zenon Brudzisz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match was over Krakau could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gazowsze Sanok throughout the match.
