Damian Sala kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, GKS Katowice's goal looked a bit too open when Walery Naskrent came free, but Wieslaw Budarz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Edgar Betonowy came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the GKS Katowice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgar Betonowy couldn't finish the play. Leszek Duszenski hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. When Kryspin Psotka fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Korona Kielce's protests and gave Kryspin Psotka a yellow card for diving instead. Wieslaw Budarz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walery Naskrent in the 24th minute of play. After some careless play in the Korona Kielce defense, Konstanty Kiewra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wincenty Jenkot. The Korona Kielce fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wincenty Jenkot should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, GKS Katowice's Dariusz Wojno got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 36th match minute, GKS Katowice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Betonowy to maneuver through the defense. Wieslaw Budarz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remigiusz Fleischer in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, GKS Katowice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dariusz Wojno to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in GKS Katowice's zone, Walery Naskrent stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wieslaw Budarz came out of the goal and Walery Naskrent tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. GKS Katowice's Wieslaw Budarz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remigiusz Fleischer in the 47th minute of play. If Kryspin Psotka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Wincenty Jenkot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dariusz Wojno in the 54th minute of the match. Edgar Betonowy might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wincenty Jenkot. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgar Betonowy ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of GKS Katowice booed when Korona Kielce was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iwo Lichniak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Remigiusz Fleischer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Wieslaw Budarz made a huge save. Wieslaw Budarz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remigiusz Fleischer, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. When Leszek Duszenski came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Korona Kielce fans jumped to their feet. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Korona Kielce reached it. When Ignacy Wieczorek fell near the penalty area in the 89th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Konstanty Kiewra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When GKS Katowice's Edgar Betonowy in 97 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Wincenty Jenkot guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. GKS Katowice were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Korona Kielce for a fine match.
