Iwan Serwacki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Witalis Palzewicz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Zbyszek Trzemzalski fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lech Poznań's protests and gave Zbyszek Trzemzalski a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Lech Poznań's Zbyszek Trzemzalski got a free kick in the 37th minute. Janikowo's Norbert Boruta got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Norbert Boruta in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iwan Serwacki saved Lech Poznań from getting behind.

Roman Sebzda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Zbyszko Zawadzki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Norbert Boruta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Norbert Boruta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Lech Poznań booed when Janikowo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Izydor Slazak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ksawery Paciuszko's late challenge caught a Janikowo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ksawery Paciuszko helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Lech Poznań:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Janikowo:s goal. When the match had been going on for 93 minutes, Janikowo's Tymoteusz Parajewski got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Iwan Serwacki. If Roman Sebzda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
