Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fabian Mazierski in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iwan Serwacki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 13 minutes into the match, Lech Poznań's goal looked a bit too open when Cyprian Waselenczuk came free, but Iwan Serwacki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Wojciech Motyl notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Szczawnik's Kazimierz Trynda. Kazimierz Trynda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some careless play in the Lech Poznań defense, Cyprian Waselenczuk kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iwan Serwacki. The Lech Poznań fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iwan Serwacki should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute, Zbyszek Trzemzalski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iwan Serwacki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cyprian Waselenczuk in the 40th minute of play. Szczawnik's Fabian Mazierski got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Cyprian Waselenczuk came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Szczawnik fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cyprian Waselenczuk couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Lech Poznań booed when Szczawnik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariusz Kiewra didn't get a good kick on the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wojciech Motyl to make the kick off. Kazimierz Trynda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roman Sebzda, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. A collision led to Lech Poznań getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Zbyszek Trzemzalski hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, Wojciech Motyl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kazimierz Trynda. Szczawnik's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wojciech Motyl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 70 minutes into the match, Lech Poznań's goal looked a bit too open when Cyprian Waselenczuk came free, but Iwan Serwacki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st match minute, Lech Poznań was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zbyszek Trzemzalski to maneuver through the defense. After 73 minutes of play Lech Poznań's Zbyszek Trzemzalski was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Zbyszek Trzemzalski kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Cyprian Waselenczuk might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Iwan Serwacki. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cyprian Waselenczuk ran back to his position shaking his head. Iwan Serwacki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cyprian Waselenczuk in the 93rd minute of the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
