Górnik Zabrze's Walery Szkarpiak proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Górnik Zabrze from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd minute Korneliusz Fleszar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teofil Turak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walery Szkarpiak was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Teofil Niziolek capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Teofil Niziolek really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Roch Raszek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Górnik Zabrze's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wojnicz the free kick.
