After a defensive mix-up in Konrady's zone, Janusz Roman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Witalis Wiatrak came out of the goal and Janusz Roman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 33 minutes into the match, Konrady's goal looked a bit too open when Janusz Roman came free, but Witalis Wiatrak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Real Madryt's Olgierd Gniewek got control of the ball when Tomasz Mnich tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute, Lucjan Sidorowicz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
