Wieslaw Okraszewski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wincent Pietrowiak, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Podchojny SA's Iwan Dylla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernard Paciuszko in the 10th minute of play. Ryszard Burdzel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iwan Dylla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ryszard Burdzel in the 26th minute of play. Ryszard Burdzel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Dylla having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Polonia Chodzież's Ryszard Burdzel got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Iwan Dylla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernard Paciuszko, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wieslaw Okraszewski acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 38th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Milosz Witek. If Ryszard Burdzel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Ryszard Burdzel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polonia Chodzież's supporters rose to their feet, but Ryszard Burdzel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iwan Dylla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 48 minutes into the match, Polonia Chodzież's goalkeeper Wieslaw Okraszewski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zdzislaw Brack. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ryszard Burdzel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Podchojny SA's Iwan Dylla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Podchojny SA from getting a goal against them. Wieslaw Okraszewski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zdzislaw Brack in the 56th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Zdzislaw Brack managed to get in a good position for a shot. Podchojny SA's supporters rose to their feet, but Zdzislaw Brack was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wieslaw Okraszewski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lucjan Paprotny's late challenge caught a Polonia Chodzież's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lucjan Paprotny helped the player get up and apologised. Lucjan Paprotny hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wincent Pietrowiak in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wieslaw Okraszewski saved Polonia Chodzież from getting behind. Zdzislaw Brack fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wieslaw Okraszewski having to interfere. In the 78th minute, Zdzislaw Brack got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ryszard Burdzel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iwan Dylla having to make a save. Zdzislaw Brack's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wieslaw Okraszewski read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. When Lech Dubiel fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Polonia Chodzież's protests and gave Lech Dubiel a yellow card for diving instead. Lech Dubiel hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Aureliusz Burufski hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Ryszard Burdzel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
