In the 4th minute Marek Rasialdo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wieceniec Disse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marek Rasialdo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Gorash Walaszkiewicz came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Freiburg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gorash Walaszkiewicz couldn't finish the play. When Olgierd Gajewski fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rotwalde's protests and gave Olgierd Gajewski a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Freiburg a penalty, 71 minutes into the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gorash Walaszkiewicz in the 94th minute of play forced Rotwalde's goalkeeper Wojciech Rybak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Freiburg's defense didn't have a chance, in the 95th minute, when Marek Rasialdo scored to the left of an out of position Wieceniec Disse, making the score, 3-1. Freiburg's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
